Der Nachteil dieser Vorrichtung bestand darin, daß hierbei der Dampf von der Innenseite des Hutes zugeführt wurde, also den Hut durch und durch aufweichte, während es genügte, die auf der Außenseite des Hutes liegenden Fasern beim Bürsten zu erweichen und geschmeidig zu machen. Nun sind bereits zum Aufrauhen von Tuchen Dampfstrahlbürsten der .eingangs geschilderten Art verwendet worden, bei denen der Dampf auf das zu b@earbei-Lende Stück zwischen den Borsten der Bürste zugeführt wird. Das Dämpfen und die Bearbeitung durch die Bürste geschieht also hierbei von derselben Seite und in unmittelbarem Zusammenwirken.
