November 1928 ab Es hat sich gezeigt, daß Gemische aus Estern substituierter aromatischer Carbonsäuren und halogenierten Phenolen bzw. deren Abkömmlingen, wie Salzen, Estern, Äther usw., ganz außergewöhnlich wirksam das Wachstum von Mikroorganismen, wie Pilzen und Bakterien, die zersetzliche Materialien, insbesondere pflanzlichen und tierischen Ursprungs, leicht befallen, verhindern bzw. unterdrücken. Vor allem haben sich Mischungen aus Trichlorphenol, Trichlorphenolacetat oder Tetrachlorphenol einerseits und Alkylestern von Phenolcarbonsäuren, wie p-Oxvbenzoesäurealkylestern, andererseits als besonders brauchbar erwiesen. . -Die keimtötende Wirkung der einzelnen Komponenten ist an sich bekannt, jedoch gehen die Halogenphenole nur in so geringem Maße in Lösung, daß ihre praktische Anwendung ohne Benutzung eines Lösungsmittels oder Dispersionsmittels kaum in Frage kommt. Ebenso besitzen die Alkylester der carbozyclischen Säuren nur relativ geringe Löslichkeit, die mit der Größe des Alkylradikals abnimmt. Patented in the German Reich on November 23, 1928.
