Description

Telefunken Society for Wireless Telegraphy m. B. H. in Berlin Oscillation circuit for short electromagnetic waves It has been shown that with electrical oscillation circuits, especially those for short waves that Natural frequency of the oscillating circuit is temperature-dependent to a large extent. this is quite understandable, since there is only an extremely small change in frequency that can be felt Changes in shape, as they are ienten by the thermal expansion coefficient of the used Materials that arise from temperature fluctuations are necessary. To these shape changes In accordance with the invention, materials of extremely small size are to be kept as small as possible Thermal expansion coefficient related. Because the metal alloys with small coefficients of thermal expansion are difficult to process and usually have internal tensions after processing, according to the invention, non-conductors (insulators) with a low temperature coefficient, especially fused quartz, porcelain, steatite, which are used externally are provided with a metallic coating so that their surface becomes conductive. Suitable materials for this are copper and silver because of their high conductivity, expediently with a further coating of gold or platinum to deri the conductive coating to protect from atmospheric influences. The coatings can be used in any way, z. B. ceramic or electrolytic or with both methods, one after the other be applied. The required layer thickness depends on the one used Frequency. It depends on the depth of penetration of the alternating currents into the material in question and only needs to be a few hundredths of a millimeter for high frequencies.
