Description
A process for recovering organic substances from spent liquors of preserving fish by Pate'nt 494 708 a process for recovering organic material from waste liquors e meat preservatives (bacon and ham) is protected.
It has now been shown that the equally valuable or even more More valuable substances can be obtained if you take the place of the bacon or ham liquor the waste liquor from the fish salting plants is used or the fish are subjected to a salting process. The execution of the process is exactly the same as described in the main patent; also are the chemical and physical properties of the products obtained essentially the same as those of the substances shown in the main patent.
The substances obtainable by the present process are not uniform bodies. in any case, they consist mainly of albumoses. However, since they contain magnesium, like the bodies described in the main patent, the assumption is that small amounts of complex magnesium compounds are precipitated with the albumoses, the presence of which has a decisive influence on the therapeutic value. Elemental analysis does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the presence of various substances from meat preservation liquor and from fish liquor. Color reactions f Ehlen. In contrast, it is known that spoiled herring brine contains large amounts of trimethylamine, which is to be regarded as a cleavage product of choline. It is unknown in which complex compound this choline is found in fresh meat. It is only certain that the content of choline derivatives in the fish liquor is much more important than in the liquor from meat preservation. But since choline and its derivatives are pharmaceutically very powerful substances, the probability could not be denied that the bodies obtained from fish liquor by felling with the mixture of guaiacolsulfonic acids obtained during the sulfonation of guaiacol have different areas of indication than those from the lyes of the Preserved meat bodies. It has not yet been possible to delineate the indication areas from one another. It is probable, however, that the bodies from the meat liquor have a stronger detoxifying effect, while the substances from the fish liquor have a more constructive effect. The guaiacol sulfonic acid mixture is obtained by treating guaiacol with the same weight of sulfuric acid of 66 ' B6 at a temperature below 100'.
Juli 1928.So I resist white mice, which were fed with the prepared according to the present method, preparation of the lethal D 'osis of X-rays (15 H). Likewise, mice and guinea pigs, because they are fed this preparation, survive administration of lethal and sublethal doses of potassium cyanide and mercury chloride. Comparative tests with the product according to patent 494708 differed strictly from the results of the tests with the preparation of this invention, in the sense that the protection against lethal doses of X-rays and against lethal doses of potassium cyanide and mercury chloride was significantly less than that which was achieved with the preparation of this invention. The results2 of the experiments with the preparation according to this invention are recorded in the Bulletins de l'Acad # mie de M # decine Vol. C Nos .: 24 and 29 of June 12 and July 17, 1928.
In the meantime, analytical results have shown that no choline derivatives or double compounds of the same are present in the substances obtained according to Patent 494,708. The lipoids (choline derivatives) are only formed in the intestinal wall when the substances are fed according to patent 494 708 .
Die erfindungsgemäß aus Fischlauge dargestellten Stoffe enthalten Cholin und Cholinderivate in Form von Doppelverbindungen in wechselnden Mengen von 2- bis 12'/',).Contain the substances prepared from fish liquor according to the invention Choline and choline derivatives in the form of double compounds in varying amounts of 2- to 12 '/',).
