In the case of large metal vapor rectifiers, short circuits are particularly troublesome because they result the connection of connected DC machine sets with the rectifier feeding transformer saturation of the transformer iron occurs in the event of a short circuit, the transformer loses its impedance and the short circuit on the AC side is therefore more unusual He wont to train height. For these reasons, it is especially important when entering switch off the AC side as quickly as possible in the event of a short circuit. So far one has sought to achieve this by the oil switch, which is usually on the high voltage side of the AC transformer. But now, for operational reasons, the release devices for such switches are not caused by the high-voltage side short circuit itself, but on Detoured by a number of relays, which is why the switching time of the oil switch is longer is as it appears feasible for the present purpose.
It is also known to have automatic changeover switches on both the high-voltage side also on the low-voltage side of the supply transformer of rectifier systems to arrange with several rectifiers working in parallel in order to single the latter to secure, so that in the event of danger, the AC power supply to the rectifiers is interrupted.
According to the invention, it is now proposed that the individual rectifiers be switched off by switching between the secondary phases of the transformer and the individual rectifier anodes are arranged. These switches are driven by the voltage of the associated secondary phase kept closed and as soon as a short circuit occurs or the supply voltage decreases significantly, triggered as a result of the disappearance of this tension.
An exemplary embodiment for such a safety circuit is shown in the drawing shown. The six anodes of a large rectifier ι are made from the six-phase Secondary winding 2 of a transformer is fed with high-voltage winding 3. Between an electromagnetic switch is built into each anode and the associated transformer phase. Each of these anode switches which are continuously denoted by 4, 5 9, has an excitation coil 10, the by one double-pole auxiliary switch 11 each, 12 by means of a switching rod 13 to the voltage of the associated transformer

For this purpose, a line 14 is led from the zero point of the secondary winding 2 of the transformer to all anode switches.
If the switching rod 13 is pulled, the switch 20 in connection with the dependency contact ϊ 5 on each switch and a direct connection 16 from one of the coil ends 10 to the
B. die Zündung, erst dann betätigt werden können, wenn die Schalter geschlossen sind und die Schaltstange 13 wieder in die Ruhelage zurückgekehrt ist.ίο closing anode switch a bypass of the double-pole auxiliary switch 11, 12 causes, so that after inserting the switch, the handle of the switch rod 13 is released can be. An auxiliary contact 17 can ensure that that certain parts of the rectifier apparatus, such as. B. the ignition, only then actuated can be when the switches are closed and the shift rod 13 back into the Has returned to its rest position.
By means of an emergency stop switch 18 and a maximum relay 19, the zero point line can also be used are interrupted so that all switches then open again.
By connecting all the auxiliary holders 15 in series, one achieves that if short circuits occur in the rectifier between individual phases, not just the Switch of these phases triggers, but also the switches of all others at the same time Phases. Furthermore, an auxiliary switch 20 ensures that the solenoid each individual switch is switched off in two poles when it is switched off. Of the The main contact of the switch is denoted by 21 and is controlled by the magnet 22 through a Linkage 23 closed, the two auxiliary switches 15 and 20 through a rod 24 closes.
As can be seen, the invention is not only for rectifiers with six phases, but applicable to those with any number of phases. To the switching time of the device according to The possibility of reducing the magnetic inertia of the magnets 22 is also reduced prevented that their coils 10 for a much lower voltage than the phase voltage of the rotary transformers and that they are preceded by an ohmic resistor will.
