Solche Sicherungen sind nur für verhältnismäßig niedere Stromstärken verwendbar. Die nachstehend beschriebene Erfindung zeigt eine Schmelzsicherung, die bei Vorhandensein der gleichen Eigenschaften für höhere Stromstärken verwendbar ist, und zwar wird der Schmelzstreifen rohrförmig ausgebildet und in seiner Mitte zusammengelötet. Die rohrförmige Ausbildung von Schmelzdrähten ist an sich bekannt. Die Enden dieses Rohres sind geschlitzt, so daß der Durchmesser vergrößert und der im kontaktgebenden Kopfteil befindlichen Öffnung angepaßt werden kann.
