Abstract

A fuel injection system according to the invention has a valve which is mounted at the inlet side upstream of an injector, the valve body of which valve can be adjusted by means of an adjustment device whose adjustment force is limited to a value which is lower than the force required to adjust the valve body in the opening direction when said valve body, in the closed position of the valve, is subjected to differential-pressure-dependent loading as a result of a fault.
