Abstract

A fire alarm box (61) sucks air in via a system (64) of pipes for rooms and equipment to be monitored and examines this air for parameters which are characteristic of a fire. Volume flow in the system of pipes and the fire alarm box is measured and, after adjustment, is examined for a disconnection or obstructions by comparison with upper and lower limiting values (614). Preferably a correction value is determined for every detector with respect to temperature, air pressure, humidity and hermeticity. An independent claim is also included for a fire alarm box with a detector for the parameters of a fire for carrying out the method of the present invention.
