Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a moulded body from foamed metal comprising the following steps: a) preparing a first powder consisting of the metal and a second powder consisting of a foaming agent b) feeding the first and the second powder to an extruder device, the first and second powder having a non-compact form c) transporting a powder mixture of the first and second powders in the extruder device towards a mould, whereby said mixture is partially melted and the partially melted powder mixture is then subjected to a pressure that is greater than the gas pressure caused by the foaming agent d) injecting the at least partially melted powder mixture into the mould, and e) relaxing the pressure to a value that is less than the gas pressure, so that the mould can be filled completely with the generated foamed metal.
