Abstract
The electric motor (3) has a stator enclosing a hollow annular rotor supported by a radial or axial ball bearing, which in turn encloses the driven compressor or propeller screw. The stator and the rotor may each have a lamination packet, with a radial thickness ratio between the rotor and stator lamination packets of between 1:1.5 and 1:2.
