Leder, Gewebe, innigst und dauerhaft verbinden, um in den entstehenden Nadellöchern nicht gleiten bzw. sich reiben zu können, wodurch die Haltbarkeit des Nähfadens bzw. des Schuhes stark beeinträchtigt wird, zweitens, der Nähfaden muß nach dem Vernähen in angemessener Zeit genügend erhärten, um sich nicht weiter dehnen zu können, drittens, die Umhüllungsschicht des Nähfadens muß das Nadelloch genügend ausfüllen, um das Eindringen von Wasser in den Schuh zu verhindern, und viertens, der Nähfaden muß gegen Wasser, Hitze und Säuren widerstandsfähig sein. Der Faden muß außerdem noch von dem Präparierungsmittel genügend durchdrungen sein. Es genügt also nicht, eine Umhüllungsschicht von Präparierungsmitteln zu erzeugen. Dem Verfahren gemäß wird ein gewöhnlicher Faden durch ein Gemisch einer Lösung von Celluloid bzw. Der Zweck der Zusammensetzung der obengenannten Materialien und zugleich ihr annäherndes Teilverhältnis wird beispielsweise untenstehend angeführt wie folgt Zu je ioo 1 auf etwa 30' erwärmtem Aceton nimmt man annähernd i bis 2 kg Paraffin, welches Gemisch wirksam verrührt wird. Die erzielte Lösung wird einer Celluloidlösung von beiläufig nachfolgender Zusammensetzung beigemengt. Ein beliebiges Teilverhältnis von Celluloid-Acetyl-Cellulose oder eines Cellulosederivates wird unter Zugabe von etwa 2 °/o Rizinus- oder Leinöl bzw. auch Firnis abermals auf 30' erwärmt, und um die Lösung vor dem Austrocknen möglichst zu bewahren, benutzt man eine 2prozentige Lösung von Paraffin, evtl. Stearin oder Ceresin in Aceton und kombiniert das Gemisch weiter mit Harzstoffen je nach Bedarf bis zu 3o °/a Inhalt. B. mit Aceton getränkten Filzeinlage ausgestattet wird.
