Description

Arrangement for the examination of X-ray or the like. Radiation When using X-rays or the like, especially when treating patients with such Radiation, it depends on the X-ray dose delivered to the irradiated body or at least to know the intensity of the x-rays and if they don't is constant - to be controlled continuously during the irradiation. To this end so far the known ionizing gases are used Effect of the radiation-based devices with one designed as an ionization chamber Radiation receiver. When using this radiation receiver one closes through Calculation from the measured, only part of the field to be irradiated Amount of radiation energy to the amount of radiation energy hitting the entire field, without any discontinuities in the energy distribution over the field to be irradiated to be taken into account. Such, and indeed uncontrollable, discontinuities are inextricably linked with the known measuring arrangements. With the small, so-called This is because thimble chambers are absorbed by the stem containing the supply line the amount of energy striking it in the form of X-rays to a considerable extent Part and therefore withdraws this amount of energy absorbed by him from that of him, the Stalk, covered part of the field to be irradiated. This with the required accounting Determination of the amount of radiant energy supplied to the entire irradiated field to take into account the measurement result obtained with the thimble chamber itself not only be awkward, but in fact impossible.

The new measuring arrangement uses a radiolucent receiver as the receiver Chamber use which, as is known per se, is arranged like a capacitor, electrically Contains conductive layers. The area of the chamber exposed to the rays is in the known manner larger than the field to be irradiated. As a result, can when determining the dose supplied to the irradiated field, the supply line, da it lies outside the irradiated field, are disregarded. The area everyone conductive layer is smaller than »the field to be irradiated; the assignments are but so close together that those ions; which from outside in can penetrate the space located by the conductive layers, opposite the Ions generated in this space are negligible. As a result, the measurement result is regardless of the size of the irradiated field.
