Process for casting steel on steel bodies by electrical
Heating using a molded body of high thermal conductivity on the
Gate point The invention relates to a method. for casting on steel and steel bodies
by electrical heating using its molded body of high thermal conductivity
at the gate. The essential feature of the process is that the
z. B. made of copper molded body to such an extent on the steel body
hugs that a strong heat dissipation from the gate point to the other parts
of the steel body takes place.
Copper has been successfully used in so-called cold welding,
especially in the case of vertical welding, that the weld metal is at the bottom. Starting point
the welding work was cooled in order to thereby weld the weld metal
and to find the beginning of the welding work, otherwise in the absence of it
the cooling copper piece removes the liquid welding material by gravity
would flow down.
In the method according to the present invention, the copper shape used has

Material is poured onto the workpiece to be supplemented in as large a quantity as possible,
which itself is strongly fueled beforehand in a known manner. By so while
The uniform heating of this workpiece due to the casting is caused by sharp temperature gradients,
which have the dreaded hairline cracks in the wake, avoided, which is why the finished one
-Workpiece lasts much longer and does not allow unexpected breaks. copper
is therefore particularly well suited without excluding another material because
In addition to its good thermal conductivity, it also has the advantage of not being welded together with the steel
Also no solution to enter into with the steel, because @ it is in the heat on the surface
covered with a copper oxide layer that prevents welding. The drawing
illustrates, as an exemplary embodiment, the method as applied to re-pouring
from wacky. Wheel flanges, namely Fig. Z shows a section through the wheel flange

how it is used for welding or casting.

The copper shape a is made up of several parts (see Fig. Z), with each part

Let welders work on the workpiece at the same time. But you can too
work with just one welder without any disadvantage because the heat, as already mentioned,
has a self-contained path due to the compensation due to the copper shape. There
Wheel tires in and of themselves are tightened with high tension or shrinkage, so
any one-sided additional tension would be absolutely harmful. These additional tensions
are avoided by the compensating copper farm.
