Description

Process for the purification of a coal distillation gas Carbonic acid As is known, hydrogen from carbon distillation gases, such as. B. coke oven gases, obtained in that the more easily condensable components be liquefied by freezing and under pressure. From the carbonated In the gas mixture, the carbonic acid is washed out with water under pressure. The solved one Carbon dioxide can then be recovered as gas in a very simple and known manner and can find beneficial uses for a wide variety of purposes. It has It turned out to be a deficiency that the carbonic acid obtained in this way was still persistent Contaminants adhere that exclude their immediate use for many purposes. The present invention shows a very simple way of doing this, carbonic acid to get rid of these impurities. It has been shown that by heating at high temperature a complete elimination of the mainly organic compounds existing foreign substances succeed because they are oxidized. Supply of water vapor is not necessary in most cases as it is released by relaxation The carbon dioxide obtained is already sufficiently moist. It has already been suggested Pass mixtures of carbonic acid and acetylene through heated pipes, whereby themselves pure amorphous carbon and water forms. But such a way of working has nothing to do with the present invention, according to which contained in the carbonic acid Foreign matter should be destroyed by oxidation. The invention can in the manner practically carried out that the contaminated carbon dioxide possibly with addition of missing water vapor is passed through highly heated pipes, whereby the organic compounds are completely destroyed.

The carbonic acid purified in this way can be used for the most diverse Purposes can be used immediately, e.g. B. for the production of ammonium bicarbonate. However, the gas purified in this way is also suitable directly for the production of ammonia soda by adding the carbonic acid together with ammonia in the saline solution is introduced. The present procedure creates the The carbonic acid produced in large quantities from the carbon distillation gases is a good one and useful application, making the invention an essential Represents enrichment of technology.
