Man hat bisher vergeblich versucht, ein brauchbares Farbband aus Papier für Schreibmaschinen herzustellen. Es sind zwar Farbbänder aus Hanfpapier bekannt, doch erfüllen sie die daran zu stellenden Forderungen in keiner Weise. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Farbband, das den üblichenTextilfarbbändern nahezu gleichwertig ist, indem es ungefähr 80 °/0 der Dauerhaftigkeit derselben besitzt. Es besteht aus holzfreiem Papier aus den Bastfasern des Maulbeerbaumes oder aus einer Mischung solcher mit anderen holzfreien Fasern. Das neue Farbband ist nicht nur billig herzustellen, sondern auch im wesentlichen nur halb so dick wie die üblichen Textilfarbbänder trotz in jeder Beziehung ausreichender Festigkeitseigenschaften.
