Description
Production of a particularly strong leaf metal replacement It is known that, by spraying or applying mixtures of cellulose ester solutions and bronze powder onto rotating, heated rollers, endless belts or similar devices and uniformly pulling off, leaf metal replacement; in the form of ribbons of any length. It has been found that the strength of such leaf metal substitutes is substantially increased if the solvent is allowed to evaporate as slowly as possible and at a low temperature. This is achieved by maintaining the temperature of the rotating pad about 25 'and more below the boiling point of the Celluloseesterlösungsmittels and the waste zugsgeschwindigkeit as low as possible, that is, below about 5 m 5 selects an hour.
The new process allows a particularly uniform in appearance Manufacture sheet metal substitutes. It is particularly possible to achieve a better bronze cover and reduce bronze consumption. The leaf metal replacement wins auth thereby in strength.
Die Festigkeit des beim ersten Versuch erhaltenen Blattmetallersatzes verhielt sich zur Festigkeit des beim zweiten Versuch gewonnenen wie 5-6 zu 16-17.Example Leaf metal substitute was produced by applying a slurry of bronze powder and acetyl-cellulose solution to a movable surface that moved at a speed of 55 m per hour. The temperature was kept at 35 ' . In a second VeTsulch, the speed of the documents was reduced to 10 minutes per hour and the temperature to 20 minutes, all other things being equal. The strength of the leaf metal substitute obtained in the first attempt was related to the strength of that obtained in the second attempt as 5-6 to 16-17.
