Description

Process for the production of halo-free photographic plates Patent 4.72 1 1 5 describes a process for the production of halo-free photographic plates which, before the application of the emulsion, are coated on the side not intended for emulsion application with a layer which is insoluble in the developer floats off as a coherent membrane during development or can easily be detached as such.

It has now been shown that antihalation layers with these properties also have an advantageous effect. Application of an alkaline casein solution mixed with a dye and formaldehyde to the back of the layer support can be produced. Suitable dyes are e.g. B. Acid black 2 B, nigrosine D water-soluble, wool black 4. B uhd other or also pine soot. Example 75 g of casein are dissolved in 300 cc of water with the addition of z cc of ammonia D. o.9r and 37.5 g of pine soot are finely mixed with the solution. After filling up with water to about 95o ccm, 35.5 ccm of 3 percent formaldehyde solution is slowly added with constant shaking. The mixture, finally made up to z 1 with water, is poured onto the back of photographic drying plates.
