Description
Running ball with bearing in rolling elements for conveyor racks The invention relates to a running ball for conveyor racks. It is known to mount the ball on smaller balls in order to reduce friction. In contrast, the invention consists in the special design of the rolling bodies, which are rotatable disks mounted in axes, the rolling surfaces of which are directed towards the center of the ball. This ensures that the ball rotates on the inch body with a sliding movement around its vertical axis like a wheel, but in any direction, since the rolling bodies absorb the movement of the loaded ball and are thereby set in a continuous rotating movement In contrast to this, the known devices of this type, i.e. the storage of the ball on a ring of smaller balls, only allow a rotation about its horizontal axis, which is out of the question for the intended purpose, however, especially for conveyor racks running on corresponding rails. In order to achieve the above-described effect of the all-round steering barque, the steering ball bearing according to Fig. R is designed as follows: The device consists of the closed housing, which is formed from the lower part a, the hood b and the guide ring c. The lower part ca has at least three bearing eyes d , which are at an angle to one another and are provided with open square openings at the top, which serve to accommodate the fixed axes e; the latter have corresponding square extensions at their ends for this purpose. So that no lateral shifts of e can take place, the bearings d are closed off at the side by a wall. The smooth-running, slab-shaped rolling elements f with an inner recess as a grease chamber for permanent lubrication rest loosely on the axles c that are fixed in this way. Fig.q. and Fig. 5 show the formation of f and e on a larger scale. These rolling bodies serve as storage for the actual ball g. The hood b with the guide ring c screwed on at the top surrounds the ball g slightly above its largest diameter, guides and protects it from falling out of the housing; a and b are firmly connected with screws.
The number of rolling elements f depends on the size of the ball G. A particular advantage of the design is that all parts are taken apart and thus damaged parts can easily be replaced.
