Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf die Auswahl bestimmter Schutzkolloide, die sich zur Herstellung von Lösungen organischer Kolloide und insbesondere auch anorganischer Kolloide eignen. Die Erfindung besteht in der Verwendung von Ablaugen, welche bei der Vergärung von Sulfitablauge abfallen; die Verwendung dieser Ablaugen kann im eingedickten oder nicht eingedickten Zustande erfolgen. Besonders gute Ergebnisse erzielt man, wenn die Sulfitablauge vor oder nach der Vergärung entkalkt und gereinigt wird.
