Reibungsarbeit.Roller or ball bearings for use on crawler tracks for motor vehicles
arranged support rollers .. Those in the joint links of the circulating chains
Crawler vehicles and the like occurring frictional forces are due to the high
Speeds and the great load extremely large. Even when in use
the known arrangement, called the one the roller axis receiving sleeve a part
of the joints of adjacent chain links, the friction that occurs is between
the roller bolt and the sleeve an essential part of the to be overcome
Friction work.
The invention now shows a construction, called by the
immediate use of this sleeve as an outer running surface and the use of the
Bolt as the inner running surface for roller bearings minimizes the friction that occurs
can be pressed down without the overall height of the joints having to be increased.
Fig. I shows a view of part of a revolving chain, Fig.
Fig. 2 shows the top view of the same part, Fig. 3 shows a section through the joint. Of the
Part of an endlessly revolving chain of a tractor shown in Figs. i to 3
consists alternately of the inner limbs i and the outer limbs 2. While
the sleeve 3 sitting in the inner link i is used as a running surface, the
sleeve q mounted in the bores of the outer link 2. at the same time as a point of articulation
for chain links i and 2 and also as the outer ring of roller bearings 5.
By mounting the rollers of the roller bearing 5 in a common sleeve
a particularly good storage of the rolls is achieved, and the otherwise
The outer rings required to accommodate the roller bearings are saved.
Another advantage of the construction is that the
inner roller bearing ring is eliminated in that the jacket of the pin 6 as
inner running surface of the roller bearing is used. The ends firmly on the pin 6
Seated rollers 7 are guided in the guides 8. The ones attached to the bush 3
Rings g serve as rollers when the driving sprocket engages in the
Chain. The invention thus shows a construction in which by the use
of roller bearings, the friction occurring between the roller pin and the bushing
is significantly reduced without being affected by the very strong and compact design
a significant enlargement of the joints occurs.
