Der in der Zeichnung dargestellte kreisförmige Laugenbehälter 1 für eine Waschmaschine dient zur Aufnahme einer sich um eine waagrechte Achse drehende Wäschetrommel 2, die exzentrisch zum Laugenbehältermittelpunkt gelagert ist. Im unteren Mantelbereich 3 des Laugenbehälters 1 ist zur Beheizung der Lauge ein Rohrheizkörper 4 eingebaut, dessen Schenkel sich in axialer Richtung des Laugenbehälters erstrecken. Um eine Reduzierung des Laugenvolumens zu erreichen, sind im unteren Mantelbereich 3 des Laugenbehälters 1 nach innen, d. h. zur Wäschetrommel 2 hin gerichtete Prägungen 6 und 7 ausgebildet. Gemäß dem Ausführungsbeispiel nach den Fig. 1 und 2 ist je eine der Prägungen 6 bzw. 7 seitlich neben dem Rohrheizkörper 4 angeordnet, so daß dieser abgeschirmt dazwischen liegt. Beim Ausführungsbeispiel gem. den Fig. 3 und 4 ist im unteren Mantelbereich 3 des Laugenbehälters 1 lediglich eine das Laugenvolumen verkleinernde Prägung 6′ vorgesehen. Der Rohrheizkörper 4 liegt dabei vor dieser Prägung. Der Abstand kann sich auch in Richtung Laugenbehälterlagerung verengen. Zweckmäßig ist in Drehrichtung der Wäschetrommel 2 im Uhrzeigersinn (Schleuderdrehrichtung) die eine Laugenbehälter-Prägung 7 kantenlos in den Laugenbehältermantel übergehend ausgebildet ist, so daß sich dort ein sanfter Übergang in den Laugenbehältermantel 8 bzw. vom Laugenbehältermantel 8 in die Prägung 7 ergibt.
