Überraschenderweise findet hierbei, wenn die Luftmenge so bemessen ist, daß die Vergasung der mitgeführten Brennstoffteilchen unvollständig ist, d. h. daß im Endgas noch geringe Mengen Kohlestaub enthalten sind, keine Erhöhung des Kohlensäuregehaltes des Gases statt. Der Kohlestaub wird unter Bildung von Kohlenoxyd vergast. Die eingeführte Luft kann sehr hocherhitzt werden, was bei der unten in den Generator eingeführten Luft wegen des Rostes nicht geschehen kann.
