Abstract

The improved lighting system of the vehicle has polarisers on the headlamps with the plane of polarisation at 45 deg. to one side. The driver views the road through a polarised windscreen, or through polarised spectacles, with the same plane of polarisation. This results in a 90 deg. change in polarisation when reversing the direction of travel, i.e. vehicles have their headlights polarised at 90 deg. w.r.t. the oncoming vehicles. The angled polarisation is at 45 deg. plus or minus 25 deg. The offside side windows have similar polarisation as the vehicle windscreen while the nearside windows are polarised at 90 deg. to the offside ones. The rear windscreen and the rear view mirror are polarised at 90 deg. to the windscreen.

Description

The principle of a glare-free headlight system is special marked by:

  • a) Polarisierung des eigenen Scheinwerferlichtes im Winkel von 45° (± 25°)a) Polarization of your own headlight at an angle of 45 ° (± 25 °)
  • b) Polarisierung der eigenen Frontscheibe im Winkel von 45° (± 25°).b) Polarization of your own windshield at an angle of 45 ° (± 25 °).

Due to the polarization of your own headlight, this is reflected in the same angle polarized windshield with almost 100% intensity an oncoming person, meanwhile, perceived this polarized light only perceives very weakly.

The reason is that the plane of vibration of your own light is at an angle of 90 ° to the polarization angle of the faceplate of the oncoming vehicle.

Claims (1)

Claim is raised to
  • a) the alignment of polarized headlights and vehicle windows to the vehicle's transverse axis in such a way that emitted polarized light and polarized front window of the vehicle have the same or similar polarization angles (expediently angles of + 45 ° or -45 °), which differ in an angle of almost 90 ° are emitted polarized light, the origin of which is 180 ° to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle (oncoming traffic).
  • b) The likewise polarized rear window of the vehicle has a polarization angle which is 90 ° different from the polarization angle of the front window.
  • c) The left side windows of the vehicle are polarized at the same angle as the front window, but with respect to the vehicle's longitudinal axis.
  • d) The right side windows of the vehicle are polarized at an angle different from the left side windows by 90 °.
  • e) Rear-view mirrors are polarized at the same angle as the rear windows of the vehicle.
  • f) Instead of the polarization of the vehicle windows and rear view mirrors, polarization glasses can also be used which have the same polarization angle as the vehicle's own light sources.
