Description

A crawler belt that is approximately the width of a motor vehicle. The subject matter of the present invention is formed by a crawler belt which takes up approximately the width of a motor vehicle and on which track strips are arranged in the transverse direction, one part of which comes to rest on the ground. The object of the present invention is shown in the drawing, namely Fig. I shows the track in view, Fig. 2 shows the track in plan, Fig.3 shows a front view of the track. The crawler belt 14 is placed over the rollers or wheels 43, 44, 45, 46. The same consists of individual cranked flat irons 72, 69, 70, 71, etc., which are articulated to one another by bolts 81, 82, 79, 8o. These flat irons form a chain with one another, which is placed on the rollers. Alternately, there are now two flat irons in the chain, e.g. B. 69, 70, rigidly connected to one another by the bolts 78, 77, 76 . The rotatable rollers 73, 74, 75, on which the belt 116 with the blocks 107 is guided, are provided on the bolts. These blocks 107 can therefore move transversely to the direction of travel in that the belt 116 moves on the rollers 74, 73, 75 . The joints of the crawler belt and belts with blocks are alternately distributed on the crawler belt, so that on two hinged flat bars, e.g. B. 70, 71, a band with blocks follows. When driving straight ahead, the crawler track moves on its rollers or wheels in the direction of travel, and the blocks 107 follow along with this movement without performing a movement transverse to the direction of travel. When steering, however, the belts 116 with the blocks 107 carry out a transverse movement, so that steering is made easier as a result, because without this arrangement steering would be almost impossible for a wide crawler belt. However, the present crawler belt gives such a large contact surface that it enables driving into swampy areas, but the steerable barges are only made possible by the aforementioned arrangement. Of course, the rollers 43, 44, 45, .46 can also be provided with teeth, so that the crawler runs like a chain on sprockets.
