Auf der verticalen Welle A, welche durch das horizontale Vorgelege B mittelst konischer Räder C in rotirende Bewegung gesetzt wird, sitzen diverse Scheiben D, die mit der Welle rotiren. Alle diese Scheiben haben gleichen Durchmesser und je acht dünne Speichen. Die Scheiben sind derart geformt, dafs man in dieselben sogenannte Einlegerahmen setzen kann, welche mit Geweben, die dem zu sichtenden Mahlgute entsprechen, überspannt sind. Die höchst liegende dieser Scheiben ist mit dem gröbsten, die nachfolgenden sind mit immer feineren Geweben überspannt, so dafs die unterste Scheibe nur noch Mehl durchläfst. Die Welle A ist mit Gewinde versehen, auf welches die Naben der Scheiben D aufgeschraubt sind, so dafs man die Scheiben, jede für sich, in beliebige Höhenlage bringen kann. Damit dieselben auf der Welle nicht locker werden können, wird jede einzelne Scheibe durch eine Gegenmutter festgestellt.On the vertical shaft A, which is set in rotating motion by the horizontal transmission B by means of conical wheels C , sit various disks D, which rotate with the shaft. An der unteren Fläche jeder dieser Zwischenwände sind Bürsten L angebracht, welche eine dem zu sichtenden Mahlproducte entsprechende Entfernung von dem Gewebe haben. Die Speichen der Scheiben, wie auch die Bürsten stehen excentrisch, so dafs das dazwischen liegende Mahlgut durch die Rotation der Scheiben, wie bei einem Mahlgange, nach der Peripherie getrieben wird. An der Unterseite der Speichen der Scheiben sind spiralförmig gewundene Flacheisen M, sogenannte Abräumer, befestigt, welche das durch die Gewebe auf die Zwischenwände gefallene Mahlgut gegen die Axe der Verticalwelle schieben und dort durch einen kreisförmigen Ausschnitt auf die tiefer liegende Scheibe fördern.On the plate F rests a two-part mantle H, which consists of as many levels as there are rotating disks.
