Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for labeling ruminant breeding animals, mainly cattle and one Capsule for use in the process.
When rearing cattle, especially on large farms it is necessary to at least allow the individual animals to do so indicate that they are assigned to a specific owner can be. This is usually done using Brand marks, but usually only one Being able to convey information. The marking of animals also serve ear tags or tags attached to the tail; even these can only be a limited number of Record information. It also needs to get the information record, the respective animal captured and to rest to be brought.
Against this background, the object of the invention based on creating a way to cattle in particular to be able to label so that a plurality of data, in particular also life data of the animal in question, distinctive and unchangeable with the respective animal connected and without having to completely immobilize the animal, are verifiable.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing part of claim 1 specified Measures solved.
Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen ergeben sich aus den Unteransprüchen.Advantageous further developments result from the Subclaims.
The invention uses for the identification of animals a known electronic transponder, so of a responder who is able to determine him record data entered by programming and to transmit this, stimulated by an external transmitter. The transponder does not need its own energy source for this; it obtains the energy required to send the data from the energy of someone pointing at him for data retrieval electric wave.
The basic idea of the invention is this Enclose the transponder tightly in a capsule affected animal through the esophagus in the rumen is implanted. The invention makes it To use peculiarity of ruminant animals, in which the initially roughly chopped food in the very spacious Rumen is stored and fermented and then in small quantities over the one equipped with reticular mucosal folds Mesh stomach to ruminate back into the oral cavity got back. Because the rumen has no direct connection over the doorkeeper to the intestine, remains an object that enters the rumen through the esophagus and is heavier than the food, at the bottom of the rumen.
If this item is designed to open easily get into the rumen through the esophagus can, so comparatively small and rounded capsule-shaped and is made of an unbreakable and acid-proof material exists so that it is not attacked by the gastric juices can enclose a transponder that is suitable, the essential for the animal in question Record data and play it back on demand.
As a rule, the capsule holding the transponder remains over the entire lifetime of the animal, i.e. up to about 30 Years in the rumen; after slaughter of the animal recovered and, if necessary, after reprogramming continue to be used.
Es zeigtThe invention is described below with reference to a drawing illustrated embodiment explained in more detail. It shows

Fig. 1 is a schematic overview of the multi-part stomach of a bovine. The roughly shredded food taken in through the mouth is first conveyed along the solid line 3 with arrows, with the gullet open, over the esophagus 1 into the very spacious rumen 2 , where it is stored and fermented. Then, in small quantities, the food gets back into the oral cavity via the reticulum 4 , which is equipped with reticulated mucosal folds, and the esophagus 1 for rumination. After ruminating, the chyme passes through the now closed gullet (dotted line 5 with arrows) through the leaf stomach 6 provided with leaf-like folds and the actual main stomach 7 , from which it passes through the gatekeeper 8 into the intestine 9 .
According to the invention, a capsule 10 is implanted in the rumen 2 via the esophagus 1 and carries an electronic transponder inside. This can be done for example by means of a tubular probe. An embodiment of such a capsule 10 is shown in Fig. 2 in view and in Fig. 3 in longitudinal section and in Fig. 4 in cross section.
The capsule 10 is formed as a body 11 of approximately oblong-oval shape reminiscent of an olive. It has a length a of approximately 45 mm and a diameter b of approximately 20 mm. The capsule 10 is penetrated in the direction of its longitudinal axis XX by a channel 12 which also has a circular cross section and serves to accommodate an electronic transponder with corresponding dimensions. The channel 12 has a diameter d of approximately 4 mm; it is closed at both ends by plugs 13 . The plugs 13 can be designed such that they seal only mechanically, for example by clamping; but they can also be glued in.
The capsule 10 consists of an unbreakable and acid-resistant material, the specific weight of which is greater than that of food, e.g. B. made of ceramic material. The material must be permeable to electrical waves so that it is possible to make the information recorded on the transponder legible from a distance of approximately 1 m. The animals therefore do not need to be caught for identification and so calmed so that the information can be recorded visually; it is rather sufficient to drive the animals through a corridor on which corresponding reading devices are arranged, by means of which the respective transponders are activated to transmit power.
As shown in FIG. 1, the capsule 10 remains at the lowest point of the rumen 2 . It survives the lifetime of the animal in question and can even be used in a corresponding manner in other animals if necessary.
