Upsetting of studs. In the main patent is a process for upsetting
described by Stebbolzen, according to welehem ': an uninterrupted, simultaneous pressure
on both ends of the stud bolt in the `Veise takes place that two stud bolts, anvil
see- evenly, but turn in the opposite direction. The -for the formation of the
Stud head necessary pressure. is so vast. that rler exercise
this procedure, provided that the stud bolt heads commonly used up to now are used,
According to the invention, the formation of the stud bolt head
carried out step by step, one clears - first of all, a clapper that only uses the
the part of the stud bolt head located around the stud hole compresses; then
will be with another, appropriately trained angler
the rest
of the stud material upset until the stud head is in the correct shape
is reached. This gradation of the work process ensures that the on
the partial area of the material to be compressed compared to the pressure to be exerted
previous method is so much smaller than the size of the partially upset
Area is less than the total area.
C-D der Abb. i bzw. 3. Abb. 5 ist eine Draufsicht auf den
Döpper. An embodiment of the invention is shown in Figs.
Figs. I and 3 are views of the striker; Fig.: 2 and q. are sectional drawings
along lines A-B and C-D of Figs. i and 3. Fig. 5 is a plan view of the
Figs. I and 2 represent a stud bolt head of more common use
Shape with Morse taper; the printing surface of the same is designed according to the invention in such a way that
that with an introduction of the leadership provided in a known manner a in
the hole of the stud bolt only the surfaces b for contact with the stud bolt material
come and carry out the transfer of the upsetting pressure. The material starts under
to flow the influence of this pressure, it will be given by the area c
Adjust shape. Now the upsetting of the head is carried out with that shown in Fig. 3 and ¢
Döpper continued; the pressure surfaces of this striker are designed so that now
only the previously not compressed part of the material is processed by the
The pressure surface is set back at points b of the anvil shown in Fig. I,
as can be seen from Fig. 3 at points d. The ones that transmit the upsetting pressure
projecting surfaces e correspond in their position to the surfaces c, which were previously at
the anvil according to Fig. i due to its shape which is behind the surfaces b
could not apply pressure to the stud material.
Die Druckstücke sind in Abb. i i in zwei Ansichtgn
dargestellt.
Aussparung i.
Stiftschraube o festgehalten. To avoid the cumbersome tool change during the work process, the two anvils can be combined in a single tool. An embodiment of this striker is shown in Figs. 6 to ii. FIG. 6 is a section through the assembled striker along the line EF in FIG. 7, which in turn represents a section along the line GH in FIG. 6. Figure 8 is a side view of the sleeve of the tool. Fig. 9 is a top view of the striker. Fig. 10 is a top view of the sleeve shown in Fig. 8. The pressure pieces are shown in Fig. Ii in two views. A sleeve g, which is held on the same by means of a stud screw Ic, is slipped over the caulking stopper f, which is designed in the same way as shown in FIG. This sleeve has a continuous recess i corresponding to the shape of the striker f. (Fig. Io) and perpendicular to this two more recesses k and 1, which go up to about half of the sleeve; the recesses k and 1 are used to accommodate two pressure pieces sya and ia, which have corresponding pressure surfaces like the anvil according to Fig. 3. The two pressure pieces are each held in place by a stud o.
fertiggestaucht. The working process when using the assembled stud bolt endpiece is such that the stud bolt is initially only compressed with the anvil f until the inner part of the head is formed; In this case, the sleeve g can already be on the anvil, since the sleeve does not obstruct the pressure surfaces of the anvil due to the funnel-shaped recess p provided on its upper surface. As soon as the partial upsetting of the stud bolt head has ended, the pressure pieces in and n are inserted into the recesses k and i, and the stud bolt head is completely upset.
Another advantage of the composite striker is the
Material saving, which is given by the fact that when the printing surfaces wear
e only the pressure pieces need to be renewed, while with separate tools
the whole die has to be replaced.
