der Mundhöhle zu halten.to keep the oral cavity.
Fig. Ι shows the mouth gag in its total view seen from the side; α is the resilient upper portion of the mouth gag, which can be partially pressed into the central part in. On the middle part a metal ring c is mounted insulated, which carries the lamp holder c 1; c and c 1 are conductively connected. At c , the extension e is attached at the same time at d , which receives the cable for the electric lamp at its lower end. One inner line of e is connected to the lamp by means of c and c 1 , the other line, formed by the outer sleeve of e , leads to the lower part b of the gag and from there isolated by the middle part m and the ring c to the lamp . A sleeve / serving as a diaphragm, which is made of a poor heat conductor and which is indicated in FIG. 2, can be pushed back and forth on c 1. This screen serves both to protect the oral cavity against the heat emitted by the lamp and to concentrate the light rays from the lamp.
Der Spiegel gestattet also Verstellungen in vierfacher Art. Er läfst sich: The joint h with the sleeve i , in which the stem of the examination mirror K rests, is attached to the ring g , which is rotatable about the vertical axis of the mouth gag. The mirror allows four adjustments. It can be:
1. um seine eigene Achse drehen,1. rotate around its own axis,
2. in der Hülse i vor- und zurückschieben,2. slide it back and forth in the sleeve i,
Using the joint, turn around the transverse axis of the gag of the mouth and
Using the ring g, turn it around the vertical axis of the gag of the mouth.
He can therefore take any position in relation to the lamp and thus makes it possible the doctor, every part of the mouth and palate easier and more comfortable than before investigate.
The main advantage of the oral gag with an electric lamp and examination mirror lies precisely in the fact that the light source and mirror are located on the mouth gag itself and thus from the Patients themselves can be held easily, but the doctor can use both hands for eventuality. Have operations free and lack any help from assistants to hold instruments can.
