erheblich an Raumhöhe
gespart.
In: Gegensatz
Cylinder design for stationary internal combustion engines. According to the patent
365473 is the actual cylinder bypassed by a box-shaped supporting body,
which is designed as a one-piece casting and is connected to the base plate.
The design is essentially intended for single-acting four-stroke machines, for
double-acting, two-stroke machines of the highest performance, it proves to be inexpedient,
because the execution of the box-shaped support body as a coherent casting
turns out to be very difficult, causes difficulties in assembly and if it is faulty
After all, Guss incurred significant losses. According to the invention, the box-shaped
Support body composed of an upper and lower cross member supported by supports
and anchor bolts are connected to each other and to the trestles. It will
so for each cylinder in a simple way one composed of individual parts
Support body created that is open on all sides. As a result, the cylinder
easily accessible from the outside. Because the upper cross member from the remaining part of the support body
is removable, so also the removal of the piston is facilitated and for this purpose
considerably in terms of room height
saved up. The cylinder liner is well known
Way divided in the middle. The outer water jacket is through in the lower cross member
arranged screws placed on the lower flange of the liner in a sealed manner
and guided on the upper flange by means of a gland connection. In contrast
to a known design, in which the water jacket on the lower cylinder cover
is placed and leads in the upper cylinder cover, so it forms here
the cooling water space together with the actual cylinder liner. It can
As a result of this training, the two halves of the cylinder liner and the water jacket
expand independently, so that the appearance of thermal stresses in the cylinder
is avoided.
In the drawing, the invention is shown in two exemplary embodiments
a double-acting and a single-acting two-stroke machine are shown.
i verbunden sind.
durch Schrauben i i verbundenen Wassermantels 12 in ihrer Lage gehalten.
I shows the invention in the double-acting two-stroke machine in a side view, Fig. 2 in the vertical middle section, Fig. 3 in the vertical section according to AB of Fig. I. Figure 4 shows an embodiment of the invention in a single-acting two-stroke machine. In the embodiment according to Figs. I to 3, the box-shaped part designated in the main patent with 2 is placed on the frame brackets i, which consists of a lower cross member 3 and an upper cross member are connected to the frame blocks i. 7 are the two cylinder covers, which are against the cross member 3 and q. support so that the latter absorb the entire combustion pressure. The cylinder lids can therefore be kept relatively light and low. The cylinder liner is designed to be divided in a known manner, so that each part can expand too freely towards the center. The upper half is attached to the upper cross member by lag screws io .4, the lower half is supported on the lower cylinder cover and is held in place by the lower flange of the loosely attached water jacket 12 connected to the lower cross member by screws ii. To the top of the water jacket is led on the flange of the upper half of the Zvlinderlaufbüclise freely expandable and by means of a Stopfbüchsenverbindung 1. 3 In Fig. 4., which shows the execution of the invention in a single-acting two-stroke machine, the lower cross member 3 is omitted and replaced by simple supports 15 attached to the frame holes i, on which the cylinder jacket rests. In this case, the cylinder liner is made in one piece, since here there is the possibility of free expansion downwards, independent of the outer cover, as the lower cylinder cover is omitted. The seal of the piston is effected by two bushings 16 inserted in the outer cylinder jacket, which carry the sealing rings. The rest of the design is identical to the first embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3.
untereinander in der in Abb. i dargestellten Weise, z.
In the case of multi-cylinder machines, the supporting bodies of the individual cylinders
with each other in the manner shown in Fig. i, e.g. B. by screw connection
so that a coherent support body for all cylinders is created.
