Die vorliegende Erfindung bezweckt, eine möglichst zweckmäßige und gedrängte Bauart für Kleindampftu'iibiuen mit angebautem 'Stromerzeuger zu schaffen, die insbesondere zur Lichterzeugung auf Lokomotiven oder ähnlichen Fahrzeugen bestimmt sind, bei denen der Platz sowie das zulässige Gewicht beschränkt sind. Die Turbine ist dabei, um eine einfache und billige Anordnung zu erzielen, meistens nur mit einem Laufrad ausgerüstet, das fliegend angeordnet ist. Die Turbinenwelle muß aus Stahl hergestellt werden, um einen geringen Durchmesser für die Welle verwenden und die mittlere Durchbohrung des Laufrades möglichst klein halten zu können und um zu erreichen, daß auch bei geringem Durchmesser der Turbinenwelle die kritische Drehzahl unter der normalen Drehzahl der Turbine liegt. Die Stromerzeugerwelle anderseits besteht zweckmäßig aus Bronze oder aus einem anderen unmagnetischen Metall, um die Wirbelströme, die zu schädlichen Erwärmungen Anlaß geben, zu vermeiden. Bisher wurde nun für Turbine und Stromerzeuger eine Welle verwendet, die durchgellend aus Stahl hergestellt war, wobei zwischen dem Anker des Stromerzeugers und Stahl welle eine Büchse aus Bronze eingeschoben wurde.
