Description

Isoliermittel für Wärme- oder Kälteschutz. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Isoliermittel für Wärme- oder Kälteschutz, dessen Kennzeichen darin besteht, daß es aus verkokten Pechen besteht, die gegebenenfalls noch mit anderen Isoliermitteln gemischt sein können. Man benutzt hierzu entweder den bei der Destillation organischer -Stoffe, wie Holz, Braunkohle, Steinkohle usw., schon in der Retorte anfallenden Pechkoks oder Produkte, die sich dadurch erzielen lassen, daß man Weich- oder Hartpeche aller Art, wie sie bei der Teerdestillation anfallen, nochmals einem besonderen Verkohlungsprozeß unterwirft. Hierbei entstehen an sich schon dadurch, daß bei der Verkokung der Peche die letzten Anteile von ölen usw. entfernt werden, aufgeblähte, blasige Reste, die beim Erkalten zu äußerst leichten, luftigen, porösen Kuchen erstarren, die schon in dieser Form ein vorzügliches Isoliermaterial bilden. Die Kuchen können in beliebige Formen gegchnitten oder zersägt zur Anwendung gelangen, oder man kann das Material auch zerkleinern und mit Bindemitteln aller Art zu neuen Formen ,gestalten, z. B. daß man es, mit Pech und Steinkohlengrus o. dgl., auch Holzkohlengrus usw. vermischt, einem nochmaligen Erhitzungsprozeß unterwirft. Auch in lockerer Mischung mit allen anderen bekannten Isoliermitteln jeder Art ist das Material zu Isolierzwecken verwendbar.Insulating agents for protection against heat or cold.
