Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fabric softening agent for Treatment of textiles in a tumble dryer with rotating Drum.
Since around the late 1960s, fabric softeners have been used for use in automatic household tumble dryers with rotie render drum became known. Such fabric softening agents often consist of one with fabric softeners as well as given if impregnated with auxiliaries and additives, more or less absorbent substrate, which is usually present as a sheet. Such fabric softening agents are for example in the DE-A-19 65 470 and DE-A-30 03 249. Also the DE-A-38 18 013 describes fabric softening agents for users laundry in the dryer. When using these funds, the impregnated fabrics together with the still moist, fresh washed laundry placed in the tumble dryer where it under the conditions of laundry drying, d. H. under constantly renewed contact with the textiles and in contact with warmed air a more or less large part of its soft mass release active substances and auxiliary substances and thereby on the washed textiles. The fabric softeners and Auxiliary impregnation of the substrates must be different Meet requirements. So it is z. B. important that the active and Excipients evenly without the formation of stains on the textiles be transferred; it is also important that the transfer the active and auxiliary substances are carried out as completely as possible and that this for textiles made of natural and synthetic fibers as well as for Mixed fabrics apply. By different composition of the Impregnation can be the application quality of the influence similar tumbler aids within certain limits and adapt to the needs of the consumer.
Lately there has been a textile softening for ecological reasons Active ingredients sought after removal by the on it load the wash water as little as possible. One in advantageous class of textile softeners in this respect quaternary ammonium compounds, which in their long residues easily cleavable groups, especially ester groups. You wear it these compounds in a known manner from the melt to the sub strat, one observes one compared to the earlier on a large scale used quaternary ammonium compounds without ester groups in the lan The rest of the delayed crystallization after application. this leads to to a limitation of the production capacity, whereby the produc production plant is reduced. The task of before The present invention therefore consisted of a tumbling aid with cationic fabric softeners that differ from Alkanolamines which are substituted by short chain alkyl chains can derive and ent, two, or three acyloxyalkyl groups hold and together with auxiliary materials on a flexible surface shaped substrate are applied, so modified that by an early start of crystallization in the manufacture of a desirable high production output is guaranteed.
This object was achieved by a tumbler aid, comprising one coated with cationic fabric softeners and auxiliaries tes flexible sheet-like substrate, characterized in that as textile softeners quaternary ammonium compounds, which differ from Derive alkanolamine and one, two or three acyloxyalkyl groups contain and as auxiliary (1) fat derivatives, selected from the Fatty acid, fatty alcohol and fatty acid ester with glycerin or fatty al alcohol-containing group, with the proviso that the Mixture containing textile plasticizers and auxiliary substances contains a crystal Beginning of the measurement, measured with a differential scanning calorime ter (DSC) at a cooling rate of 10 ° C per minute, more than 45 ° C, preferably more than 55 ° C.
Beson ders wertvolle Textilweichmacher weisen die idealisierte Struktur der Formel I aufThe acyl groups of the quaternary ammonium compounds are derived from saturated or unsaturated carboxylic acids with 10 to 20 carbon atoms, in particular from tallow fatty acid, from oleic acid, from coconut oil fatty acid or from rapeseed oil fatty acid. Typical representatives of this class of compounds are the compounds of the dimethyl type known from DE-A-16 99 058, DE-A-17 94 068, DE-A-19 35 499 and DE-B-24 30 140, for example. di- (2-acyloxyalkyl-) ammonium methosul fat. Instead of the methyl groups, the molecule may contain C 2 -C 4 -alkyl or hydroxyalkyl groups, which may also be alkoxylated. The anion can, for example, also be the chloride, bromide or ethyl sulfate anion or can be derived from phosphoric acid. The acyl groups are bonded to the nitrogen atom via oxyalkyl groups with 2 to 4 carbon atoms. In the case of oxyalkyl groups with 3 or 4 carbon atoms, the carbon chain can be linear or branched. Quaternary ammonium compounds, which are a mixture of quaternary ammonium compounds with one, two and three acyloxyal alkyl groups, are particularly important as textile softeners, in which compounds with two acyloxyalkyl groups predominate. Acyloxyalkyl groups are, above all, acyloxy methyl, ethyl, n-propyl and i-propyl groups. Particularly valuable textile softeners have the idealized structure of Formula I.

The substrate is a paper or a woven or non-woven cloth made of natural or synthetic fibers or a foam-like sheet. Suitable fibers for the production of the substrates mentioned are, above all, fibers made of cellulose, polyester, polyolefin, polyacrylonitrile, polyamide, polyurethane or Viscose or mixtures thereof. Natural sponges or synthetic foams, in particular made of polyurethane, are also suitable. The impregnating composition consisting of fabric softeners and auxiliaries and, if appropriate, additives may be applied to the substrate in any manner, for example by spraying or soaking the nonwoven, the impregnated to apply a certain amount or to improve the uniformity of the order Subsequently, substrates are treated, for example, by squeezing in a nip. In the production of the tumble aids according to the invention, the non-volatile constituents are melted, applied to the substrate and then optionally volatile constituents, for example fragrances, are added. About 30 to about 200 g of impregnating compound are applied per m 2 of substrate. When the applied melt cools down, the impregnating composition solidifies, it being important according to the invention that the mixture containing the fabric softener and the auxiliaries begins to crystallize, measured with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) at a cooling rate of 10 ° C. per minute, of more than 45 ° C, preferably more than 55 ° C. This requirement ensures a sufficiently high production output.
Two mixtures of fabric softeners and auxiliaries and additives of the composition shown in Table 1 were melted at 60 to 65 ° C and applied to a polyester fiber fleece in an amount of 70 to 75 g per m 2 . Using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), the start of crystallization at 55 to 58 ° C. was determined at a cooling rate of 10 ° C. per minute.
For comparison, a melt was produced without an auxiliary (below corresponding increase in the proportion of textile softener). Whose Kri The start of installation was determined to be 35 ° C. The drying time of the applied mixture in the manufacture and the active substance-Abga Advice on use in tumblers can be found in Table 1. The The softness of the treated textiles is comparable in all 3 cases Good.
The table shows that the mixtures of recipes 1 and 2 according to their start of crystallization above 45 ° C at Her freeze immediately after application and therefore no collapse production speed, whereas a mixture without auxiliary material ent an unacceptably long drying time speaking requires the start of crystallization below 45 ° C.
Another advantage of recipes 1 and 2 according to the invention is that the active substance release rate of 92 and 96% is significantly better than that of the comparison recipe is without an adjuvant.
