Abstract

A process is disclosed for destroying the cellular structure of microorganisms by exposing suspensions of microorganisms to ultra-sonic radiation. These suspensions of microorganisms are in particular sludges from biological sewage clarification plants. A volume and mass reduction of the clarification sludges to be disposed of is achieved thanks to this ultra-sonic treatment.

Description

The invention relates to a method for Zer disruption of cellular structures of suspensions of Mi Croorganisms, in particular from biological sludges treatment plants using ultrasound.

It is known that cellular structures of Mi destroy microorganisms with the help of ultrasound read sen.

Dabei verbleibt Faulschlamm. In biological wastewater treatment plants, sedimentation occurs primary sludge and through metabolism bio Logically degradable substances by bacteria in the bele Exercise or trickling filter method Excess sludge (Bacterial suspension), which is often used for digestion Generation of biogas (mainly methane) under be drawn. This leaves digested sludge.

Because the use of the resulting sludge as fertilizer becomes increasingly difficult, only remains either landfill or incineration.

Since both with is associated with high costs, it is of benefit Mud volumes, both by volume and by dry sub to reduce the punching quantity. The resulting sludge  are relatively difficult to drain. The drainage tion is only with the addition of (expensive) conditioning resources possible. The sludge still contains a lot of organic matter especially inside the Cells of microorganisms. This organic cellin Ingredients are difficult to attack biologically.

By treating the sludges with ultrasound who the both primary, excess and digested sludge in the cell structure so destroyed that largely only the empty cell shells remain as removable substances stay while most in real or col loidal solutions passes. Unlike that, not sludges treated with ultrasound Drain sludge more easily and better. To ent Watering is less use of conditioning means necessary.

The substances that have gone into real or colloidal solution can again subject to microbiological degradation be opened. On the one hand, this can be in the aerobic biological part of a sewage treatment plant (activated sludge, Drip twill process), but preferably there as a pro clay donor for denitrification. Thereby the often unfavorable relationship between slightly decreases buildable compound and the nitrate content of the nitrifi decorated wastewater improved. One more way consists of the real or colloidally solved orga substances together with the resulting sludge digestion and thus used to produce biogas pull that can be used to generate energy.
