Das Bleichen und Aufhellen durch die Einwirkung von Ozon ist bekannt. Indes ist
es außerordentlich schwierig, das Auffrischen voll Bildern, Gemälden, von alten
Drucken oder Handschriften, die unansehnlich und fleckig geworden sind, mittels
Ozon durchzuführen, da es nur sehr schwer gelingt, die richtige Dosierung des Ozons
vorzunehmen, und die für eine einwandfreie Einwirkung erforderlichen Verhältnisse
zu schaffen. Die Anwendung voll Ozon aus Bariumsuperoxyd oder auch aus sogenannten
Ozonisatoren ergibt fast niemals ein sicheres brauchbares Er-Wird zuviel Ozon angewendet,
so 'Yelit die bleichende Wirkun- desselben zu weit, so daß sogar Zerstörungen der
Bilder oder Gemälde oder zum minde,;ten einzelner Teile eintreten können. Wird züi

Ozon und bei dem angeführten Feuchtigkeitsa -"ehalt der Luft erfolgt die von selbst
sich ein stellende, auswählende und subtile Oxydationswirkung des Ozons in dem oben
erwähnten Sinn. Bei richtiger Anordnung und Auswahl stellt sich das für den genannten
Zweck günstigste Ozon- und Feuchtigkeitsverhältnis von selbst ein, und das Verfahren
erfordert weder besondere Überwachung noch analytische Kontrolle oder Anwendung
