Description
Process for the preparation of viscose solutions. For the presentation of viscose was allowed by the previously known methods initially Al- kali act in excess to pulp. This creates what is known as alkali cellulose, which, after pressing, combines with the carbon disulfide, which is then added in suitable quantities, to form xanthate. It has always been necessary to use a considerable excess of alkali for the preparation of monosodium viscose, namely at least twice the theoretical amount.
It has also been suggested to treat the pulp with dilute acids if necessary to treat under pressure. The brittle one produced in this way Modification of the cellulose should be soluble in such amounts of sodium hydroxide that on 1 molecule of cellulose there are 2 molecules of sodium hydroxide.
It has now been determined on the basis of experiments that from a suitably cellulose pre-machined not only without using an excess of Al kali viscose solutions can be produced of excellent quality, but also can be enommen pre-simultaneously refining the pulp.
According to the invention, this refining and upgrading of the cellulose is carried out achieved by the starting material first with zinc chloride or a Mixture of concentrated acids, e.g. B. hydrochloric acid-sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid im Mixture with phosphoric acid or formic acid or acetic acid or with a mixture of an acid with acid sulphates or a zinc salt with bisulphates, optionally using a dispersing device (e.g. Kolloidb ZD mühle, Plauson system), dissolves, separates from the residue and then by adding plenty of water or on others Way fails again. The pure cellulose obtained in this way is after complete washing out with water processed on viscose and shows the big one Advantage that it turns into monosodium viscose in the theoretical amount of alkali dissolves.
In this simple way, viscose solutions of much higher Generate concentration than was previously possible in other ways. The following Invention produced viscose can be used particularly well for the production of rayon, Use synthetic wool and films. Since the solutions are also very concentrated Form can be produced, they are also particularly suitable for plastic masses and also for gluing purposes, when one considers the pulp which has been preprocessed in this way suitable substances such as starch, gelatine etc. are added and only then carbon disulfide can act.
It is known that ordinary cellulose only changes into a gelatinized form when treated with caustic alkali, since the monosodium cellulose is not completely water-soluble. The pulp preprocessed according to the above process, on the other hand, is clearly soluble in weak alkali solutions. The main feature of the present invention is not previously a b # ek might fact that can be prepared by geei, -nete preprocessing means a cellulose which dissolves readily in dilute soda-Z, lye and the production of highly concentrated viscose permitted. However, this means a significant advance in comparison with the previously used methods.
