Die Erfindung betrifft eine selbsttätige Vorrichtung zum Verhüten von Dampfbildung in Rauchgasvorwärmern bei unterbrochener Kesselspeisung. Wenn in Betriebspausen nicht gespeist wird, tritt im Vorwärmer eine Temperatursteigerung und bei längerer Dauer auch Dampfbildung ein. Beides ist für die Haltbarkeit der Vorwärmer wegen der mit Beginn frischer Speisung eintretenden schnellen Abkühlung und möglichen Wasserschlägen schädlich.
