Vorliegende Erfindung hat den Zweck, bei einkamm erigen Dampfwasserhebern, welche mit einem kolbenartigen, in einer Büchse geführten Dampfsteuerventil versehen sind, das Spiel dieses Ventils dadurch zu unterstützen, dafs der oben auf demselben lastende Druck-zur Zeit, da das Ventil sich öffnen soll, erniedrigt und, wenn es sich schliefsen soll, erhöht wird, im Uebrigen aber stets niedriger bleibt als der Dampfdruck. Während der nun folgenden Entleerungsperiode des Apparates strömt Wasser von P aus in den Condensator U hinein, und die Flächen, an denen der Dampf sich abkühlen kann, werden kleiner, mithin steigt der Druck in U allmälig und die Entlastung des Ventils K wird geringer, so dafs das am Ende der Entleerungsperiode in P eintretende Vacuum alsdann den Schlufs des Ventils herbeizuführen vermag.
