Abstract

The roof tiles(2) used on a building may be made either of concrete, clay or similar material. They are protected from injurious growths by a copper element (1), possibly a roof ridge cover strip, positioned such that rainwater running off the copper element flows down over the tiles. The copper content of the water running down the sloping surfaces of the roof thus has sufficient copper content to prevent the growth of plants and algae. USE/ADVANTAGE - Prevention of possible plant/algae damage to roof tiles on building.

Description

The invention relates to a device made of copper for protection of building roofs against vegetation, esp especially against fouling by mosses and lichens according to the Preamble of claim 1.

The lifespan of building roofs, especially of Dä tilts with sloping roof legs, those with roofing are made of clay or concrete, depends very much on the Be the roof grew, especially from moss and lichen. The destructive effect of such vegetation is on penetration of the root system into the finest cracks and Voids due to roof coverings. That penetrated gene root system exerts pressure on the material, so that cracks widen or flake off. There with the roof covering is also susceptible to white  influences, especially against frost. It lies on it the hand that in the sense of an extension of the life of Ge building roofs the vegetation of plants, especially of Moss and lichen is undesirable.

To remove harmful roof coverings currently occur all chemical agents used for the plant to are xical. These funds come in the treatment of Roof often into the environment and lead elsewhere unwanted damage.

The object of the invention is to provide a simple device create effective protection of building roofs, especially of roofs with inclined roof legs that with Roof coverings made of clay or concrete are covered, opposite offers harmful vegetation.

This object is achieved by the in the kenn solved part of claim 1 contained features, expedient developments of the invention by the in the features specified in the subclaims.

According to the invention, the device consists of Copper agents that are in the field of view of building roofs, preferably over the entire width of the roof leg in the loading area of the ridge as well as other suitable areas of the Roof are attached, which are characterized in that rainwater draining from these areas is possible large area of the roof overflows.

The rainwater removes components from the copper agents that vegetal growth, especially vegetation Counteract mosses and lichens. Therefore, such Copper agent in a suitable version even with be growing roofs to remove the existing vegetation and, if desired, for ongoing protection from others Vegetation can be used.

Below are different ones  Embodiments of the invention with reference to drawings be wrote.

Fig. 1 shows copper means 1 , which are designed in the shape of the ridge hood. Conventional ridge hoods, consisting of ceramic or concrete 4 , as shown in FIG. 2, can be changed according to the invention by a suitable coating with copper agents 1 in the visible area. The Kupfermit tel 1 can, as Fig. 3 makes clear, in the form of simple sheets, be attached between a conventional ridge hood 4 and the brick approach 2 . To protect roofs, which are characterized by long roof legs, between the ridge and the eaves rule, as shown in Fig. 4 Darge, additional strip-shaped copper means 1 can be attached to protect the roof covering located below.
