Abstract

Description

 The present invention relates to a preventive and curative device against the dep8t of mosses and lichens which form on the roofs of houses, buildings and monuments.

 On the one hand, an invention is known to date for eliminating mosses and lichens from roofs of various houses and buildings comprising a buried zinc anode, connected by a non-destructible cable to a longitudinal copper plate, stretched, placed at the top of the roof and fixed on 7 cm thick zinc shims spaced every 150 cm.

 On the other hand, a method is known concerning the field of roofing with flat, mechanical and slate tiled roofs laid with the nail, the principle of the invention being based on the fact that the copper oxide salts prevent the formation of foam and the process of which is a 30 mm copper strip, with a thickness of 2 mm, serrated on its lower edge in order to distribute the oxidized water regularly at each tip of the teeth, spaced 5 mm apart.

 The device according to the invention consists of a copper cable serving as a support, around which is wound regularly - and slightly spaced, a strip of the same metal, which like the cable deteriorates in air, and forms with it and the acids of poisonous salts (verdigris), which carried by rainwater spread over roofs and monuments, to protect them and destroy existing moss and lichens.

Depending on the device, the lightly spiral copper strip-
spaced apart presents a greater surface of oxidation. and a better distribution ratio of waters charged with vanenous salts.

 The device will be fixed by means of appropriate fasteners, either of the same metal, and not destructible by salts, and slightly under the ridge of the roofs, of the side to be protected, or posted and slightly fixed for a lesser slope as for monuments. In the same way, the part under the chimney which protects against oxidized water will be protected.

 The device shown in Figure I consists on the one hand of a copper support cable I around which is wound a strip of the same metal, slightly spaced 2, and fixed by copper cables 3.

 The fixing can be carried out with other non-oxidizable systems.
