Diese Widerstandsänderung wird zur Anzeige gebracht. Dabei muß die obere Begrenzung des Fototransistors in Höhe des gewünschten Grenzpegels angeordnet sein. Die elektrische Schaltung besteht aus einer einfachen Stabilisation der Betriebsspannung der Leuchtdiode (L), um den Lichtaustritt konstant zu halten. Mit dem Regelwiderstand (R) wird die Steuerspannung einjustiert - etwa 700 mV -. Ist der Fototransistor hochohmig, so wird der Kondensator (C) aufgeladen. Während dieser Zeit ist T1 gesperrt und die Anzeige-Leuchtdiode (A) leuchtet kurz auf. Dies dient zur Funktionskontrolle der Einrichtung beim Einschalten.
