Das Drosselventil 6 wird über einen Elektromagneten 11, der über eine Steuerleitung 12 angesprochen wird, betätigt. Dadurch kann die komprimierte Luft über das Drosselventil 6 in den Auslaß kanal 10 entweichen, wodurch die Expansionsarbeit verringert und somit die Bremsleistung des Motors verbessert wird. Durch die einfache elektrische Steuerung des Drosselventils 6 lassen sich natürlich über ein entsprechendes Steuergerät beliebige andere öffnungs- und Schließzeiten realisieren. Außerdem können zur Steuerung des Elektromagneten neben dem Signal vom OT-Geber auch beliebige andere Signale, zum Beispiel vom Zündzeitgeber oder der Schwungscheibenerkennung, verwendet werden.The throttle valve 6 is held by the return spring 13 in the closed position during normal operation of the internal combustion engine.
