Verfahren nach Anspruch r, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man das Pyridin bzw. dessen Homologe oder Derivate in wäßriger Lösung anwendet, wobei das Mischungsverhältnis Pyridin : Wasser alle Werte annehmen lcann. 3. Verfahren nach Anspruch z und a, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man dem Pyridin bzw. seinen wäßrigen Lösungen Zusätze von Ammoniak beimischt. Verfahren nach Anspruch r bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die so behandelten Pflanzenfasern einer weiteren Nachbehandlung mit Ammoniak unterzieht. 5. Verfahren nach Anspruch r und a, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man das Pyridin oder seine Homologen oder seine Derivate erst einwirken läßt, nachdem eine auf die Behandlung mit Säuren folgende Zwischenbehandlung mit Ammoniak stattgefunden hat.
