Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer hochaktiven Kohle. In der Patentschrift 371691 ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung hochaktiver hohle beschrieben, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß -man kohlenstoffhaltige Substanzen -in Gegenwart von Säuren des Phosphors bis zur Verkohlung erhitzt. Bei- dieser Darstellung von aktiver Kohle findet leicht ein Verlust an Phosphorsäure durch Reduktion derselben zu Phosphor und Phosphorwasserstoff statt, welcher insbesondere auch mit Rücksicht auf die mit ,der Anwesenheit der Reduktionsprodukte hervorgerufene leichte Entzündbarkeit bemerkenswert ist. Wir haben nun ein blitter gefunden, diese störende Wirkung auszuschalten, einerseits, indem wir das Verfahren im Drehofen unter Verwendung von Heiz- und V erbrennungsgasen ausführen, anderseits, indem wir diesen Verbrennungsgasen noch zur Vermeidung der unerwünschten Reduktion Sauerstoff hinzufügen. Es --war in keiner Weise vorauszusehen, daß die Verwendung von Heiz- und Verbrennungsgasen, insbesondere auch mit Rücksicht auf ihren Gehalt an reduzierenden Bestandteilen, und weiterhin die Zuführung von Sauerstoff die erwünschte Wirkung der Zurückdrängung der Reduktion haben würde, und der Gedanke der Verwendung der in Frage stehenden Mittel zur Vermeidung einer solchen Reduktion war keineswegs naheliegend. Vorteilhaft macht . sich bei dem Verfahren die trotz inniger-Durchdringung mit Sauerstoff zu-- verzeichnende, Unverbrennlichkeit der mittels Phosphorsäure hergestellten Kohle durch besonders gute Ausbeute geltend.Process for the production of a high-active carbon.
