Kaliumchlorid in annähernd äquivalenten
JIengen enthalten, miteinander und leitet als-
dann Ammoniak bis zur Sättigung ein, wo-
bei man durch Kühlung dafür sorgt, daß'
die gewöhnliche Temperatur nicht wesent-
lich überschritten wird. Es werden so rund
9o Prozent des angewandten Chlorkaliums in
haliumsulfat übergeführt und dieses direkt
in fester Form gewonnen. Etwas anders lie-
,ren die Verhältnisse hingeben bei Verwen-
dung von Natronsalzen. Infolge der grö-

daneben aber noch 2o Prozent (NH,@,SO,

Ammonsulfat bezogen, entspricht. Es wurde
nun gefunden, daß man die Ausbeute an
Natriumsulfat wesentlich erhöhen, ja nahe-
zu quantitativ gestalten kann, wenn man mit
einem überschuß an Kochsalz arbeitet. Be-
trägt der L berschuß an Kochsalz z. B. -5 Pro-

Process for obtaining sulphates of alkalis. Patent q.0592- relates to a method for
Extraction of sulphates of fixed alkalis,
which consists in getting these sulfates
removed from such solutions by ammonia
separates, in which they differ by double
composition of amine sulfate and soluble salts
zen of the fixed alkalis are able to form.
After this experience one mixes
for example solutions containing ammonium sulfate and
Potassium chloride in approximately equivalent

then add ammonia to saturation, where-

It has further been found that the yield of sodium sulfate can also be increased considerably by saturating with ammonia at a temperature lower than the usual temperature. Thus, when using an excess of table salt of 25 percent and saturation with ammonia at a temperature of 10 ° C., a yield of sodium sulfate of 93 percent was achieved.
So enthielt z. B.
1fscht man z.
2.5o g NaCl - -
i 22 g NH,C1 - -
und nur i,i g (NHT)2SO4 - -
Since the sodium sulfate yields based on the ammonium sulfate used can be made almost quantitative in the ways described above, ammoniacal, chlorammonium- and sodium chloride-containing alkalis are obtained, which are characterized by a very low content of sulfates. So z. B. the mother liquor, which was obtained by using twice the theoretical amount of common salt and saturation with ammonia at ordinary temperature, except for 254g NH3, 76g NH4C1, 779 _NaC1 only 3.7g of sulfates calculated as ammonia sulfate. Such lyes can, however, be used without further ado in the manufacture of ammonia soda, since the sulfate content is too low to exert any disadvantageous influence. 1fscht z. B. 11 of this mother liquor with 2, 11 of a saturated sodium chloride solution, one obtains an ammoniacal brine with: 7 5 g NHs per liter
2.5og NaCl - -
i 22 g NH, C1 - -
and only i, ig (NHT) 2SO4 - -
An ammoniacal brine composed in this way can easily be used for carbonation.
