Description

Compensation of the different copying densities of cinematographic picture tapes. It has been suggested that the density of copying of cinematographic negatives be different compensate for by differently strong staining. However, such a staining is technically unusable under normal circumstances. If the celluloid side is stained, so the staining cannot be removed again, so that the negative changes constantly is. Such changes are made on the one hand by the owners of the negatives not admitted and on the other hand make it impossible to correct errors that have occurred. If the gelatine is colored, it is given a special, so far, without pausing its effect for the present purpose not recognized and therefore not applied working conditions also produce an indelible color. aside from that becomes the dye under all circumstances in which staining occurs concentrated on the stained medium, here the gelatin, so that the intensity the color not only from the concentration that is tried out and easy to pause, but also depends on time, temperature and other uncontrollable factors. In addition, when the dye is concentrated on the fiber, it is reversed Removed solution, so that the content of the solution drops and it is only used once could be. Such a consumption of dye makes the process for the practice unusable.

To compensate for the different copying densities technically usable Form of coloring can therefore only be obtained on the gelatin side and not on the celluloid should be worked and the coloring may only be done by soaking up the solution consist of a dye that does not color the gelatin itself and from it through «Washing can be completely eliminated again. Have the required property As is known, only certain dyes, essentially basic, while only acidic can be used in rare cases with the addition of alkalis to the solution.
