Process for the production of ammonium bicarbonate in gas works and coking plants.
The previously common decorative processes for the production of ammonium bicarbonate and
Alnonium carbonate are not only very cumbersome but also on the use
limited to carbonic acid in the pure state. Instead of pure carbon dioxide
Carbonated gases from lime kilns have also been used. Using
of weakly carbonated gases, however, as they come from furnaces
is made up of the neutral amionium carbonate, as it is as raw water in the gas works
and coking plants waste, do not produce bicarbonate. Passing this weak
carbonated gases abducted by weak or strong bicarbonate dissolving
significant amounts of ammonia without converting the carbonate to bicarbonate. That
it already emerges from this, (let out the carbonic acid-containing D: -stillation gases
the coal is ammonium carbonate, but bicarbonate never crystallizes out, although
the carbonic acid is present in great excess over the ammonia. as well
there is no or very little bicarbonate in the aqueous solutions, but
.Always only the neutral carbonate. It is now of great importance @ in gas works
and coking plants, in which amnnonia is produced and, as already noted,
falls off as neutral carbonate, (read to produce more permanent carbonate. Pure
Carbonated or highly carbonated gases, such as those from lime kilns,
are now not available, only flue gases, which io bi, s 18 percent
Contain carbonic acid. Ers was therefore an impossibility to go to the gas works without
further equipment for the production or extraction of carbonic acid to produce bicarbonate
and so to replace the sulfuric acid with carbonic acid, the present process
is intended to remedy this and omits the production of ammonium carbonate
Carry out means that the coal distillation plants, gas works and coking plants
are available at all times.
herzustellen. For this purpose, the carbonated gas, expediently flue gas from the retort furnaces, is freed of dust and small amounts of sulphurous acid by washing and then introduced under pressure into a concentrated solution of the neutral carbonate. At the same time, further amounts of ammonia can also be introduced. The ammonia can easily be produced in the desired forte in the mostly existing aluminum apparatus from your raw water as gas or compressed water. Cleaning is not necessary. The concentrated solution of the neutral carbonate can also be easily produced in the gas works. It is the ordinary compressed raw water. The connection to the bicarhonate takes place immediately as soon as corresponding amounts of carbonic acid are present in the liquid. keits knees conditional. )? 'It escapes in the process
Stickstnff, but this cannot anunonia
carry with them, or only very little

.Ammonia is present. It becomes dis by it
reached, from the start an ainmonitnn
carbonate solution is used by
carbonic acid, too, at the same time as the ammonia
is imported in the appropriate amount.
holilensiiure and Amni <> niak fall in the
concentrated reading immediately as Bi: .carbonate
off, and a state of equilibrium arises
between indifferent @ticlatoff and Sauer-
substance from the flue gas and its content
about excess carbon dioxide against one
concentrated solution of Amnionitiniliiharl> o-
nat, which has only a slight aniinorni.al; spaai-
possesses. Through the use of carbon dioxide under pressure and the way in which the Amanonia: lcs is introduced, it is possible to produce a fertilizer salt or a commercial ammonia salt in gas works and coking plants without additional systems and without the use of foreign substances.
