Verfahren zum Walzen von Rohren, insbesondere in Streckreduzier-, Pilger- oder Kontiwalzwerken, bei dem vor dem Walzvorgang und/oder während des Walzvorganges eine gezielte, die Umformfestigkeit des Rohrs bereichsweise verändernde Temperaturverteilung im Walzgut eingestellt wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die zu beeinflussenden Geometriegrößen des gewalzten Rohres an der Auslaufseite des Walzwerkes erfaßt und einer Regelstrecke zugeführt werden, die aus einem Soll-Ist-Wertvergleich, einem on-line arbeitenden Prozeßrechner und einem Signalumformer besteht, wobei der Differenzwert des Soll-Ist-Wertvergleiches in dem Prozeßrechner anhand von theoretisch vorgegebenen anlagen- und walzgutspezifischen Daten zu einem Korrekturwert verarbeitet wird, der in ein Signal umgeformt zur lokalen Einstellung der Temperaturverteilung im Walzgut vor dessen Einlauf in das Walzwerk verwendet wird. 1.
