Abstract

At least two layers of synthetic film are cut and heat sealed by a knife whose direction of movement has a normal and a parallel component relative to the film. The knife has a first, relatively broad surface to produce a wide seal and a second narrow section to produce a cut and edge seal. The knife can be rocking, rotating or reciprocating. The step between the first and second section can be 1-10mm, pref. 1-5mm. A geared drive gives a rocking motion to a heated knife and a broad seal is produced between polythene films enclosing the item to be packed to the right. Das Rundmesser 28 rotiert in Richtung des Pfeiles D und wird durch einen entsprechenden, zusätzlichen Antrieb in Richtung des Pfeiles E oszillierend auf- und abbewegt. Das Profil des Rund­ messers 28 entspricht dem in Fig. 3 dargestellten Profil des "Wiegemessers" 8. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zwischen dem relativ schmalen Abschnitt (25) des Trenn­ schweißmessers (8, 28, 38) und einer die abzutrennenden Folienteile aufnehmenden Unterlage (Leiste 18) eine Spann­ schiene (43) angeordnet ist, die in Vorlaufrichtung (C) der Folien (21, 22) vor dem Trennschweißmesser beginnend sich hinter das Trennschweißmesser erstreckt und deren Randkante (44) gegenüber der Unterlage derart schräg ver­ läuft, daß der Abstand der Randkante von der Unterlage in Vorlaufrichtung von einer unterhalb der Unterlage bis zu einer oberhalb der Unterlage gelegenen Position zunimmt.5.
