Abstract

The prepn. of a sugar-contg. soil improvement agent and erosion protector made of ligno-cellulose contg. material comprises partially hydrolysing the cellulose and neutralising the acids present. The solids are pulped or formed into chips as required. USE/ADVANTAGE - The prod. has a stable structure and is superior in terms of humus formation and erosion protection compared to conventional composts, peat and peat substits. The fibrous structure causes felting of crumbly humus particles, thus reducing soil erosion. The water storage capacity is higher than peat and compost. Nutrients are bound up in the lignin and thus do not enter the ground water and are slowly given up to the plant roots. The sugar and other soluble components in the hydrolysed lignocellulose activate microorganisms and other small organisms thus leading to an enrichment of the soil with humus. The prepn. of the agent takes approx. 1 hr. Any cellulose-contg. crude material or waste prod. can be used.

Description

The field of application of the invention is the production of sugary soil improvement and soil protection products made of lignocellulose.

Due to the intensive cultivation of our arable land their humus layer has decreased significantly in recent years. From the former about 30 cm are sometimes only 5-10 m available. The result is a greatly increased consumption of Mi. fertilizers, because they are no longer stored but get into the groundwater. In addition, the floors are covered by the Use of heavy machinery more and more compacted what before especially in the case of monocultures excessive soil erosion leads.

The sugar contained in the hydrolyzed lignocellulose and other soluble components activate microorganisms and other small creatures, leading to soil enrichment leads with humus. The fibrous structure causes Verfil the crumbly humus particles, causing the erosion of the Soil is greatly reduced. The structure is over years stable. The water storage capacity is higher than that of Peat and compost. Nutrients are bound by the lignin and do not get into the groundwater. You become the plant slowly added.

The bark humus and also the green compost are because of the man gel degradable sugar and because of their crumbly structure not suitable for this. Also peat bog, for loosening up Soil used in horticulture is one of these problems not grown. It contains no sugar and is not its structure able to hold the crumbly humus. By the way it rots within a few months, leaving the bottom is only loosened up temporarily.

A white peat-like product is also known, which according to a chemothermal process is produced. The one there however, sugars which are in solution are extracted (DE 36 27 861 C2), so that an activation of soil life and that there with associated humus accumulation.

The present invention is therefore based on the following object:
A process for the production of sugar-containing soil improvers from readily available lignocellu-containing materials is to be specified, which is easy to control, can be implemented quickly and with a high degree of mechanization.

This object is achieved by a method according to claim 1 solves. The method points towards obtaining other Soil improvers have the following advantages on:

By a defined, partial hydrolysis and then mechanical shredding a product is obtained, due to its sugar content and its years stable structure conventional compost, peat and peat replacement products with regard to humus formation and erosion protection is far superior.
  • 2. Der Prozeß dauert insgesamt nur etwa 1 Stunde.2. The process only takes about 1 hour in total.
All cellulose-containing raw materials and residues can be used be applied.
AnwendungsbeispielApplication example

Hardwood is said to contribute to a sugary soil improvement be processed. The wood (also residual wood) is first chopped. The chips have dimensions similar to those in pulp production. You will add one after Acid heated to temperatures above 100 ° C. The dwell time is depending on the temperature and the type of wood used, 30 minutes maximum.

Volatile components are then extracted with steam. in the Remaining acids are removed by adding a buffer mikals neutralized. The product still has that afterwards Structure of the wood chips used. Depending on the ver purpose, d. H. depending on what you want to treat for the soil advantageous structure mechanically machined or zer fibers.
