Der H-N-D-Filter für Verbrennungsmotoren besteht aus einem gemeinsamen Gehäuse mit Zu- und Ablauf. Das Schmieröl wird durch Öffnungen zum Hauptstromfilter gepumpt. Der Rücklauf des Nebenstromfilters wird über eine Verbindung zum Rücklauf des Hauptstromfilters geleitet. Der gesamte H-N-D-Filter wird, wenn die Filterkapazität erreicht ist, ausgetauscht. Der H-N-D-Filter läßt sich besonders bei Motoren mit Öl-Schraubfiltern einsetzen. Die Größe des H-N-D-Filters richtet sich nach der vor­ geschriebenen Ölmenge im Motor.
